Kazan kicks off Rostki Forum and Russia China Expo

Head of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov said the forum's program included more than 70 sessions on various topics

KAZAN, 14 November. TASS/. The 2nd International Forum Rostki: Russia and China - Mutually Beneficial Cooperation and Russia China Expo have opened in Kazan. The forum will help strengthen business ties and expand trade and economic relations, said Kirov Region Governor Alexander Sokolov at the opening ceremony.

"The forum will define new plans and ways of development, contribute to strengthening of existing business ties and to the expansion of trade and economic relations between our countries. <...> I am sure that this event will provide an opportunity to get to know each other even better and to find new reliable partners," Sokolov said.

The President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, noted that there is now an opportunity to make the most of interregional cooperation.

"The forum is very rich. We have prepared a program with more than 70 sessions in various thematic areas. <...> We expect concrete agreements and the signing of mutually beneficial contracts between Russian and Chinese companies within the framework of the forum," Minnikhanov said.

In his welcoming speech, Liu Jun, Minister Plenipotentiary and Trade Representative of the People's Republic of China in Russia, noted that the Republic of Tatarstan is a leader in cooperation with China. "Thanks to an attractive investment climate. Tatarstan is actively carrying out practical cooperation with China, strengthens humanitarian exchanges between our sides, creates favourable business conditions for Chinese enterprises investing in the Republic," said the official.

The International Forum Rostki: Russia and China - Mutually Beneficial Cooperation will be held in Kazan on 13-15 November. The forum's business program includes 70 sessions on trade, investment, technology, logistics, petrochemicals, agriculture, education, tourism and other topics. More than 10,000 participants are expected to attend the event, including representatives of 69 Russian regions and 26 China's administrative divisions. The Forum will also host the Russia China Expo international exhibition and will offer an extensive cultural program to all participants.
