Russia’s small agricultural companies harvest around half of total grain volume in 2023

Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev added that the share of farmers in total agricultural production reaches 15%

MOSCOW, February 27. /TASS/. Farmers and small agricultural organizations collected approximately half of the total grain harvest in Russia in 2023, Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev said on Tuesday.

"We are still waiting for official numbers, but we understand that farmers and small agricultural organizations collected around half of the overall volume of grain. Your contribution to the production of milk, meat, potatoes, vegetables, and berries is considerable," Patrushev stated. "We hope that you will continue to develop farms, introduce modern technologies and improve the quality of products," he added.

He also said that the share of farmers in total agricultural production reaches 15%. Patrushev also noted that 2023 was "quite productive" for the Russian agricultural industry. "Despite certain difficulties, the volume of agricultural production ensured the stability of the domestic market and the fulfillment of Russia’s export obligations," he said.

Earlier, the Ministry of Agriculture reported that the second largest grain volume in Russian history was harvested in 2023 at around 143 mln tons.
