No plans to raise taxes on Russian businesses — senior lawmaker

Changing the personal income tax scale "is also not under consideration at this point," Valentina Matviyenko noted

MOSCOW, December 21. /TASS/. The Russian government is not going to increase taxes for businesses, said Valentina Matviyenko, the chairperson of the Federation Council - the upper house of the Russian Duma.

"Authorities, the government, created such conditions for businesses, so that they can continue <…> to successfully develop in these most challenging, difficult times. I do not think the issue of increasing the tax burden will be on the agenda now; it seems to me this will be counterproductive," Matviyenko said.

Changing the personal income tax scale "is also not under consideration at this point," she noted.

Businesses can rest assured knowing the government "does not change rules of the game every month, does not change fiscal laws," the Federation Council chairperson added.
