BEIJING, December 17. /TASS/. Some 3.2 mln tons of cargoes were carried over new bridges across the Russian-Chinese border in January-November 2023, Russian Deputy Prime Minister, Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev told TASS.

"Two cross-border bridges across the Amur River were commissioned in 2022: a railway bridge Nizhneleninskoye-Tongjiang and a motorway bridge Blagoveshchensk-Heihe. Some 3.2 mln tons of cargoes were carried along them in January-November of this year," he said after the meeting of the intergovernmental commission on development of Russia’s Far East and China’s North-East that took place in Beijing.

The development of logistics infrastructure in the Far East is prior for the Russian government, Trutnev added.

"We will particularly focus on the development of such an infrastructure project as the Eastern Range. The government is currently discussing the plans of the third stage of the upgrade of Baikal-Amur and Trans-Siberian railways. It is planned that more than 250 mln tons of cargoes will be carried via them by 2030," he said.
