MOSCOW, December 7. /TASS/. The financial system based on prevalence of the dollar and the euro is discredited, President Vladimir Putin said at the VTB Investment Forum "Russia Calling!"

"The financial infrastructure based on prevailing dollar and euro and settlements exclusively through Western banks and the SWIFT system is also discredited," Putin said.

"Payments in national currencies are successfully taking its place at present," the head of state added.
