Annual inflation in Russia up to 7.54% from 7.28% over week — Economy Ministry

According to the ministry's review, prices for food products excluding fruits and vegetables increased by 0.26%

MOSCOW, November 29. /TASS/. Annual inflation in Russia in the period from November 21 to November 27 accelerated to 7.54% against 7.28% a week earlier, the Economic Development Ministry said in its price situation review.

"For the week from November 21 to November 27, 2023, inflation on the consumer market was 0.33%, year-on-year inflation was 7.54%. In the food products segment, inflation was 0.44%. Prices for food products excluding fruits and vegetables increased by 0.26%. For fruits and vegetables, the rate of price growth decreased. In the segment of non-food products, prices decreased. Reduction in prices for electrical and household appliances accelerated, the growth in prices for passenger cars slowed down. In the services sector, prices increased by 0.72% due to higher prices for air tickets for domestic flights," the review notes.

On September 22, the Economic Development Ministry published an updated forecast of the socio-economic development of Russia for the period 2024-2026. According to the document, the ministry raised the forecast for inflation in Russia in 2023 from 5.3% to 7.5%.
