Ten EU countries, including Germany, to experience economic decline in 2023

The European Commission does not consider sanctions against Russia as a factor impacting the decline

BRUSSELS, November 15. /TASS/. Ten EU countries, including Germany, will experience an economic downturn in 2023, while Estonia will set an anti-record, according to the European Commission's (EC) fall economic projection.

According to materials supplied by the European Commission, Germany's GDP would contract by 0.3% at the end of the year. Estonia is anticipated to experience the greatest decline (2.6%), followed by Ireland (0.9%). At the same time, Malta will have the highest GDP growth in the EU in 2023, with 4%, followed by Croatia with 2.6%. Many observers were surprised by the European Commission's prediction for Sweden, which predicts a 0.5% fall.

The European Commission does not consider sanctions against Russia as a factor impacting the decline in European economy.
