MOSCOW, November 13. /TASS/. Russian farmers’ grain harvest may exceed 150 mln tons during this agriculture season (July 1, 2023 - June 30, 2024), President of the Russian Grain Union Arkady Zlochevsky told a press conference.
"We have upgraded the outlook on this year’s gross yield to 145 mln tons without new territories included. In fact, this is a conservative forecast as well. <…> I think [grain harvest] will exceed 150 [mln tons] including new territories," he said.
Earlier, Russia’s Agriculture Ministry estimated the country’s grain gravest in 2023 at 123 mln tons, including 78 mln tons of wheat.
Agriculture Minister Dmitry Patrushev said earlier that Russia’s net grain gravest in 2023 might reach 135 mln tons, including 90 mln tons of wheat. In October, the ministry upgraded its grain harvest outlook for this year to 140 mln tons.
