MOSCOW, November 9. /TASS/. The Arctic Rescue Center in Pevek will begin working in late 2024, Russia's Emergency Situations Minister Alexander Kurenkov told the State Duma deputies.
"We have started organizing the Arctic emergency and rescue centers in key locations of the Arctic Region," the minister said. "The center in the city of Pevek will begin working in late 2024."
Another three emergency and rescue centers will be organized in Tiksi, Dikson and Sabetta. The Emergency Situations Ministry's rescuers and aviation at the centers will provide safety along the Northern Sea Route. They will also search and rescue those in distress at seas in the North.
