Putin asks to consider single marine corridor for Northern Sea Route

The assignment was issued in conclusion of the meeting for development of Far Eastern cities held at the Eastern Economic Forum

MOSCOW, November 8. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin asked the government, regional authorities and Rosatom state corporation to consider the issue of creating a single marine transport corridor from Northwest Russia to the Far East.

The relevant assignment was issued in conclusion of the meeting for development of Far Eastern cities held at the Eastern Economic Forum on September 11.

"The Russian government in cooperation with Rosatom state corporation and with participation of executive authorities of interested Russian regions is to submit proposals on forming a single marine transport corridor for cargo carriage among seaports located on territories of the Northwestern and the Far Eastern Federal Districts and for export cargo transit along the Northern Sea Route," the document reads.

April 1, 2024 is the deadline for preparation of proposals.
