Ghana interested in oil, grain supplies from Russia — president of business council

"We see Crimea as a gate for trade", President of Ghana-Russia Business Council Lawrence Awuku-Boateng said

MOSCOW, October 24. /TASS/. Ghana needs Russia’s supplies of oil, grain and agriculture equipment, President of Ghana-Russia Business Council Lawrence Awuku-Boateng told TASS.

"We are interested in supplies of oil, grain and other goods, especially agriculture equipment," he said on the sidelines of the Yalta International Forum.

Ghana and other African countries are considering Crimea as a gate for trade with Russia, the head of the business council said. "We see Crimea as a gate for trade. Without Crimea we (African countries - TASS) cannot have fruitful trade cooperation," he said. "Currently we want to deepen cooperation between Ghana and Crimea, and Russia as a whole," Awuku-Boateng noted.

Ghana would also like to sign an agreement on cooperation with Russia in the area of education, he added. "So that we could bring students from Ghana to Crimea, whereas Crimean students could go to Ghana. This is what will help us implement close cooperation," he stressed.
