Bank of Russia to continue work on frozen assets release — Central Bank chief

It is noted that the Central Bank has suspended the discussion on establishing a compensation fund for investors and will return to it later

MOSCOW, February 10. /TASS/. The Bank of Russia will continue its efforts to unblock frozen assets, Chairperson of the Central Bank Elvira Nabiullina said on Friday at the press conference after the Board meeting.

"Concerning legal action, I have already reiterated earlier that this is a rather complex legal process. We are preparing them; this work continues," Nabiullina said, answering the question whether the Central Bank files actions against the use of frozen assets of the Russian regulator by the EU.

The Central Bank has suspended the discussion on establishing a compensation fund for investors and will return to it later, the head of the regulator said.

"We have indeed suspended the discussion of this issue. Much will depend on foreign regulators in unblocking frozen securities held by our nationals. We will decide later on the feasibility of reverting to the discussion on this matter," Nabiullina noted.
