SOCHI, November 23, /TASS/. Russia’s state-run nuclear corporation Rosatom continues to deliver nuclear fuel and enriched uranium to Europe and the United States, the company’s First Deputy CEO Kirill Komarov said at the Atomexpo Forum.
"For the time being, no serious contracts with us have been severed. This applies to the nuclear fuel industry as well. We are too large a player in this field to simply stop working with. Moreover, there are simply no grounds for doing so," he said.
"I can only say that even now, when the European Union government closed the European airspace for Russia, planes from Russia kept bringing nuclear fuel and enriched uranium to European nuclear facilities. Delivery routes have become a bit more sophisticated, but we keep transporting. Deliveries to the United States continue as well," he said.
In his words, an important factor in preserving ties with partners is his company’s "fanatical attention to details and methods of fulfilling these contracts."
"We can never afford putting the nuclear fuel cycle at risk because of some weird political considerations," Komarov added.
Earlier, the official said that Rosatom continues its participation in 23 out of its 24 international projects. According to him, Russia and Rosatom retain their global leadership in the nuclear fuel sector.
The international forum Atomexpo-2022 is the main event in the global nuclear industry. This year, the forum was attended by leading industry experts from more than 50 countries.
