Hungary is against European Commission’s proposals on energy crisis — Foreign Minister

Peter Szijjarto noted that he had presented objections of Hungary concerning the gas price cap, joint fuel purchases, cooperative use of gas storages and disclosure of information on long-term contracts at the EU energy ministers meeting

BUDAPEST, October 25. /TASS/. Hungary does not support proposals of the European Commission countering the energy crisis and insists on all the decisions on these matters to be taken by consensus and not by the majority of votes, Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said on Tuesday.

"Security of energy supplies and energy prices are priorities for Hungary and we will not accept any proposal that will jeopardize energy security for Hungary even in a minimal degree," the Minister said at a meeting with reporters streamed by the M1 TV Channel.

Szijjarto noted that he had presented objections of Hungary concerning the gas price cap, joint fuel purchases, cooperative use of gas storages and disclosure of information on long-term contracts at the EU energy ministers meeting.
