Far Eastern sardine catch up 7.7% in Russia YTD — Federal Agency

It is reported that the aquatic bioresources catch in Russia is expected to be 5 mln metric tons as of the year-end

MOSCOW, October 25. /TASS/. The Far Eastern sardine (iwashi) catch in Russia gained 7.7% year-on-year and reached 167,700 metric tons as of October 25, the Federal Agency for Fisheries said on Tuesday.

"The iwashi catch in the Far East reached 167,700 metric tons by October 25, 7.7% above the figure as of the like date of the last year," the Agency said.

32,000 metric tons of saury were caught, the Agency added, without giving dynamics against the last year.

According to the Federal Agency for Fisheries, the aquatic bioresources catch in Russia is expected to be 5 mln metric tons as of the year-end.
