ASTANA, October 13. /TASS/. The TurkStream gas pipeline will not become a replacement for the Nord Stream due to its lower capacity, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in an interview, with its fragment posted in the Izvestiya Telegram channel.
"No, this should not be stated that way. It is not professional to say so because capacities are different," Peskov said, answering a question whether the TurkStream can substitute the Nord Stream.
The Kremlin spokesman reminded about the idea of Russian President Vladimir Putin to create a gas hub. "Although the President’s idea on creation of the hub in Turkey was rather vigorously and positively supported by President [of Turkey Recep Tayyip] Erdogan, it still has to be worked out," he added.
