Economic indicators of EAEU countries begin recovery — PM of Kazakhstan

As Alikhan Smailov said, efforts to stabilize economic development give an opportunity to raise medium-term growth predictions for the economies of the EAEU countries

CHOLPON-ATA /Kyrgyzstan/, August 26. /TASS/. The main economic indicators of the member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) are starting to recover, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov said on Friday during a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council.

"There is a recovery in key economic indicators, and economic risks are partially mitigated as a result of the measures implemented by our governments, including within the framework of the EAEU," he said.

According to the Prime Minister, "In particular, efforts to stabilize and secure economic development have enabled us to raise medium-term growth predictions for the economies of the EAEU countries."

According to him, in the first half of this year, there has been an increase in mutual trade. "Kazakhstan's trade with the EAEU countries grew by 4.8% and reached $12.6 bln. At the same time, last year the growth reached 28%," the Prime Minister specified.
