Razoni ship carrying Ukrainian grain in anchorage area of Syria’s Tartous, says agency

The Razoni was the first vessel carrying Ukrainian grain to set sail from Ukraine's Odessa via the marine humanitarian corridor after an agreement

BEIRUT, August 14. /TASS/. Razoni, a ship carrying Ukrainian grain under Sierra Leone’s flag, was in the anchorage area of the Syrian port of Tartous, Reuters reported Sunday citing sources.

The Razoni was the first vessel carrying Ukrainian grain to set sail from Ukraine's Odessa via the marine humanitarian corridor after an agreement was concluded by Russia, the UN, Turkey and Ukraine on July 22 in Istanbul. The ship approached Istanbul late on August 2. Members of the Joint Grain Export Coordination Center inspected the ship early on August 3, whereas on August 4 it left Turkey’s waters.

It was planned that the Razoni would moor at the target point, the northern Lebanese port of Tripoli, on August 6, but the buyers refused to accept the cargo due to a delay in delivery. Reuters reported on Thursday that out of 26,000 tonnes of corn on board 1,500 were to be unloaded in Turkey, after which the vessel was planned to head for Egypt.
