Danone not planning to terminate operations in Russia

Danone owns 13 plants on Russian soil, with staff totaling around 7,000 people

MOSCOW, April 5. /TASS/. Danone has no intention of halting its operations in Russia or leaving the market, the French multinational food manufacturer said in a statement on Tuesday.

"The position of Danone on its operations in Russia has not changed. We have no plans to stop our operations in Russia or exit the market. The safety of our employees and the provision of a smooth flow of business are our major priorities now," the company said.

Earlier, Reuters, citing a source close to the matter, reported that Danone was looking into the possibility of exiting the Russian market.

Danone, which is involved in the manufacture of dairy products and plant-based products, packed water and special nutrition items, including early life nutrition, has a presence on five continents. It owns 13 plants on Russian soil, with staff totaling around 7,000 people. The company manufactures products for such brands as Prostokvashino, Activia, Actimel, Rastishka, Tyoma, Danissimo, Danone, Biobalance, Actual, Smeshariki and more.
