China able to boost imports of coal, seafood from Russia, says ambassador in Moscow

The Chinese side advocates "ensuring the normal development of good relations and mutually beneficial cooperation" with Russia

MOSCOW, March 25. /TASS/. China is able to boost imports of the Russian coal, seafood and other goods from Russia, Chinese Ambassador in Moscow Zhang Hanhui said on Friday.

"Chinese entrepreneurs wish to cooperate particularly with Russian partners. <…> As of today, Russia is the first-or second-biggest supplier of oil, gas and coal, and it has been the first-largest supplier of beef for more than two years. In terms of wheat supply our opportunities are rising, we can receive more Russian coal, it is possible to receive more seafood produced in Russia," he said at a meeting of the Russian-Chinese Business Council at the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Moscow.

The Chinese side is against anti-Russia sanctions, the diplomat noted. "Some countries want to make China join the anti-Russia alliance. But I reiterate that China’s position is independent in this regard," he emphasized.
