Russian aviation authorities extend closing of airspace in country’s south until March 26

MOSCOW, March 18. /TASS/. Russia’s aviation authorities have extended the ban on civilian flights in the south of Russia until March 26, a source in the Transport Ministry told TASS.

"[The ban] is extended until March 26," the source said.

The airspace in Russia’s south was closed on February 24. Later the restriction was extended until March 20. The Federal Air Transport Agency recommended airlines to use alternative routes through the airports of Sochi, Volgograd, Mineralnye Vody, Stavropol and Moscow to transport passengers to closed airports.
