Raiffeisen Bank dismisses report about possible Russia exit

Raiffeisen Bank told TASS earlier that Russia is a key market for Raiffeisen Bank International Group

MOSCOW, March 1. /TASS/. Raiffeisen Bank denies information on possibly leaving the Russian market, a representative of the bank’s press service told TASS, adding it is ready to ensure uninterrupted access to financial services for clients in Russia.

"Raiffeisen Bank denies Reuters information agency's report on possible withdrawal from the Russian market. We are ready to ensure uninterrupted access to financial services for our clients on the Russian market," the press service said.

Earlier, Reuters reported citing sources that the Austrian banking group Raiffeisen Bank International (RBI) was considering leaving Russia. Such a decision could be taken if the Russian subsidiary needs further capital, the agency said.

Raiffeisen Bank told TASS earlier that Russia is a key market for RBI Group. Moreover, the credit organization is on the list of systemic banks of the Russian Federation.
