MOSCOW, February 24. /TASS/. More than half of Russian travelers (60%) expect full opening of international borders in 2021, according to a survey conducted by Yandex.
More than 10,000 people participated in the survey. They named Thailand, Italy, Spain, as well as Turkey and Egypt as the most desirable countries for travel, which have already opened borders for Russians and at the same time do not send travelers to quarantine upon entry.
When asked whether opening borders will affect their plans, 68% of respondents answered in the affirmative. At the same time, 45% of responders would travel abroad if the situation with the pandemic improves, 9% - even if the risk remains, and 20% of the respondents said that they prefer to travel within Russia and opening borders will not affect them in any way.
The majority of the survey participants in the past year and early 2021 either traveled throughout Russia or stayed at home. Almost 40% of the respondents did not leave their city, and 10% went somewhere exclusively for work. In addition, 41% of respondents reported having spent their vacations in Russia.
