MOSCOW, February 11. /TASS/. Polish fighter squadrons were activated on Tuesday morning amid Russian attacks on facilities on Ukrainian soil near Poland’s border, the Operational Command of the republic’s Armed Forces said in a post on X.
"As the Russian Federation launched air strikes on facilities on Ukrainian soil, Polish and allied aircraft were activated in our air space," the Polish military said in a statement.
"The operational commander used all available forces and means at his disposal. Fighter squadrons were launched, and the ground-based air defense and radar reconnaissance systems were brought to the highest degree of readiness," the Operational Command reported.
Earlier, Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushchenko said that natural gas infrastructure was attacked last night. Blasts were reported in the Kharkov, Dnepropetrovsk, Nikolayev, Cherkassy, Poltava, Kiev and Sumy regions. In the Kiev and other regions of Ukraine, air raid sirens have been ringing out for more than seven hours already. Emergency blackouts were introduced nationwide by the morning.
