Russia tests drones for interaction with Su-57 jet

According to UAC CEO Vadim Badekha, the open architecture of the Su-57 onboard equipment and high-speed communication lines provide for an effective interaction with drones of various classes

BANGALORE /India/, February 11. /TASS/. The United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) plans to engage Su-57 fifth-generation fighter jet together with drones that are undergoing trials, UAC CEO Vadim Badekha told TASS at Aero India show.

"The use of drones together with manned aircraft helps covertly fulfil combat missions and extend the flight duration. For example, it is planned to create a combined network-oriented system on the basis of Su-57 with the use of various unmanned aerial vehicles. The open architecture of the onboard equipment and high-speed communication lines provide for an effective interaction with drones of various classes," he said.

The UAC is also designing air-launched strike drones. "We work to create heavy unmanned systems for air launch and deployment on outside suspension of tactical aircraft and in internal compartments," Badekha said.
