Survival rate of wounded in Russian army up significantly — defense minister

MOSCOW, December 16. /TASS/. Thanks to the large-scale use of medical evacuation by air and military medical trains and the development of comprehensive medical rehabilitation procedures the survival rate of the wounded in the army has significantly increased, Defense Minister Andrey Belousov said at the year-end meeting of the ministry’s board.

"The survival rate of the wounded has significantly increased thanks to the large-scale use of medical evacuation by air and military medical trains, as well as the development of comprehensive medical rehabilitation," he pointed out.

Belousov thanked all medical workers who were saving soldiers’ lives on the frontline and in district and central military-medical and civilian hospitals. He thanked the Health Ministry and the Federal Medical and Biological Agency for providing extra hospital beds and for assistance in the post-treatment rehabilitation of wounded soldiers.
