MOSCOW, December 20. /TASS/. The Russian Aerospace Forces has delivered a strike on terrorist infrastructure in the Syrian province of Idlib, the deputy chief of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Opposing Parties in Syria (a division of the Russian defense ministry) said on Tuesday.
"On December 18, 2023, the Russian Aerospace Forces delivered a group air strike on the facilities of illegal armed groups, located at a plant in Idlib’s industrial zone. The strike destroyed workshops that repaired and assembled unmanned aerial vehicles. At least 10 militants were killed," Rear Adm. Vadim Kulit said.
He reiterated that aircraft of the US-led international coalition continue to provoke dangerous situations in Syrian skies, performing flights in breach of deconfliction protocols and violating the country's airspace.
Nine violations were registered in the al-Tanf zone over the past 24 hours, committed by a pair of A-10 Thunderbolt attack aircraft, three pairs of Rafale fighter jets and one MQ-1C multirole unmanned aerial vehicle.
In Kulit’s words, such actions create dangerous precedents for air accidents or incidents and escalate the general situation in Syria’s airspace.
