Russia uses AI in combat drones

SAROV /Nizhny Novgorod region/, November 20. /TASS/. Russia is using artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in combat drones, scientific head of the Russian Federal Nuclear Center - Pan-Russian Research Institute of Experimental Physics Vyacheslav Solovyov said.

"We are using Ai technologies… in military purposes, to identify objects, equip unmanned aerial vehicles with the software that identifies targets for destruction," he told TASS.

"We have designs and software that we install on drones. We have tested them at ranges and are now supplying to the troops," he said.

The National Center of Physics and Mathematics opened on Monday in Sarov the first Russian school of artificial intelligence and big data for students and young scientists. Representatives of 17 Russian regions study in it.
