Extra anti-sabotage measures to be taken in Russia’s new regions

MOSCOW, April 5. /TASS/. Russian authorities will take additional measures on neutralizing sabotage groups and on counteracting terrorism in new Russian regions.

"Instructions were given to organize additional investigative and counterintelligence initiatives in the sphere of anti-terrorism, the measures on neutralizing sabotage groups and blocking the channels of illegal drug and munitions trafficking," Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolay Patrushev said following the council’s meeting on Wednesday.

"Any attempt to destabilize the socio-political situation and undermine the constitutional order will be severely intercepted in accordance with Russian legislation," he added.

Earlier on Wednesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting to discuss the issues of ensuring the rule of law, public order and public safety in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics and the Zaporozhye and Kherson Regions.
