Russian military plane crashes in Belgorod Region — governor

The plane crashed on the outskirts of a village, pilot ejected, the defense circles say

MOSCOW, February 23. /TASS/. A Russian military plane crashed in the Belgorod Region, Regional Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said on his Telegram channel on Thursday.

"A Defense Ministry plane crashed in the Valuyki urban district. An investigative team and the Emergencies Ministry staff are working at the scene," the governor said.

The cause of the crash is being determined and the situation is under control, Gladkov added.

The defense circles told TASS, that "the plane crashed on the outskirts of a village. The pilot managed to eject. His condition is being determined."

The plane burst into flames when hitting the ground, they specified.

"According to preliminary information, a household outbuilding is on fire," the defense circles pointed out.
