Ukrainian military deploy weapons in schools and kindergartens of Dnepr, Nikolayev

According to the chief of Russia’s National Defense Management Center, Col. Gen. Mikhail Mizintsev, residents of nearby homes were not evacuated, because neo-Nazis use them as a human shield

MOSCOW, May 22. /TASS/. Military and paramilitary units of Ukraine deployed weapons and created fortified positions in educational facilities in the cities of Nikolayev and Dnepr, as well as in Donetsk People’s Republic territories under their control, the chief of Russia’s National Defense Management Center, Col. Gen. Mikhail Mizintsev, said on Saturday.

"Members of Ukrainian armed groups turned the following facilities into fortified positions and deployed military equipment and multiple-launch rocket systems at adjacent territories in the following locations of the Donetsk People’s Republic: School No.2 in Bakhmut, vocational school No.77 in Chasov Yar, Solnyshko kindergarten and school No.1 in the settlement of Novoekonomicheskoye," said Mizintsev, who also heads the Russian Joint Coordination Headquarters for Humanitarian Response in Ukraine.

According to the official, residents of nearby homes were not evacuated, because neo-Nazis use them as a human shield.

"Artillery weapons and multiple-launch rocket systems were deployed in Nikolayev’s Kindergarten No.141 ‘Zvezdochka’ and on the premises of the shipbuilding vocational school. Militants from territorial defense units have set up a fortified position and an ammunition depot at School No.119 in Dnepr, deploying armored vehicles and pieces of artillery," he added

A lyceum and an out-of-school center in the city of Putivl (Sumy Region) were turned into fortified positions as well, Mizintsev said. According to his information, local residents are held in basements under the pretext of ensuring their security.
