MOSCOW, May 10. /TASS/. The Kiev regime has lost 30 combat drones off Snake Island over the past three says, Russian Defense Ministry Spokesman Major-General Igor Konashenkov said on Tuesday.
"Let me point out that another Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle Bayraktar-TB2 was destroyed by Russian anti-aircraft systems off Snake Island this afternoon," he said.
According to Konashenkov, thus, the Kiev regime has lost 30 combat drones in that area in the past three days, including nine Bayraktar-TB2 strike drones.
"All the drones were involved in the failed ‘PR action’ of the Kiev regime to seize Snake Island on the eve of May 9, the Day of Victory in the Great Patriotic War (the Soviet Union’s war against Nazi Germany in 1941-1945 - TASS)," Konashenkov added.
The Bayraktar TB2 is a Turkish-made strike drone with a 150 km-range capability, an operating speed of 130 km/h and a 50 kg payload. It is furnished with an automatic take-off and landing system.
Currently, Bayraktar TB2 drones are in service with the armies of Azerbaijan, Qatar, Libya, Morocco, Poland and Ukraine as well as with Kyrgyzstan’s border guard service. The drones were used at the theaters of combat operations in Nagorno-Karabakh, Syria and Libya.
