SEVASTOPOL, January 29. /TASS/. The Admiral Makarov frigate crew carried out a complex of naval exercises in the Black Sea, currently visited by American destroyers, USS Porter and USS Donald Cook, the Russian Navy’s Black Sea Fleet announced Friday.

"The frigate crew discovered a mock air target and deployed active and passive jamming using electronic warfare measures," the announcement says.

The artillery crew practiced arming the weapons and carried out naval combat exercises against a simulated target.

The ship crew also practiced damage control, along with ship guard and defense measures. The next training stage will involve the Bastion coastal missile defense division.

On Thursday, the Black Sea Fleet reported that it had tracked USS Porter, a US destroyer that entered the sea late on January 28.

On January 23, the Russian National Defense Control Center reported that the Black Sea Fleet had spotted the USS Donald Cook destroyer entering the Black Sea. Amid the ship’s entry there a Bastion missile defense system was activated in Crimea for drills.
