NEW YORK, May 4. /TASS/. US President Donald Trump has admitted that Washington may withdraw from the talks on Ukraine if it finds it impossible to strike a deal to resolve the conflict.

"There may be a time when I say that. Maybe there’s something I cannot do, maybe it’s not possible to do," he told NBC News when asked when the US will quit the Ukrainian dialogue.

On May 2, the head of the US State Department's press service Tammy Bruce said that Washington was ready to continue mediating between Moscow and Kiev, noting that the situation could change if there was no progress. On May 3, Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia’s Permanent Representative to international organizations in Vienna, said that the United States and the European Union would not be able to unsettle Russia by their possible refusal to mediate on the Ukrainian issue.
