TEL AVIV, November 14. /TASS/. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has eliminated over 140 projectile launchers during its operation in south Lebanon over the past week, the army press service said.
According to its statement, these launchers "posed an immediate threat to Israeli civilians and IDF troops operating in southern Lebanon."
The launchers struck included those used to shell Israel’s northern and central regions on November 13, the statement reads.
Additionally, according to the press service, during the past week, Israeli troops have eliminated more than 200 militants from the Lebanon-based Shiite party Hezbollah, striking "from the air and ground."
"These strikes further degrade Hezbollah's capability to carry out terror attacks from southern Lebanon against Israeli civilians on the northern border. The IDF will continue to operate to thwart any danger or threat against the State of Israel," the military said.
On September 23, Israel launched an offensive operation, dubbed Northern Arrows, targeting Hezbollah’s military facilities, carrying out massive air strikes across Lebanon. On September 27, Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah was killed after Israel dropped bombs on Beirut. Overnight on October 1, the IDF announced a ground operation in borderline regions in Lebanon’s south.
