BRUSSELS, December 5. /TASS/. The war between Israel and the Palestinian movement Hamas has created "a huge risk" of terrorist attacks in the European Union around Christmas and New Year, European Commissioner for Home Affairs Ylva Johansson told reporters.

"With the war between Israel and Hamas <...>, with the upcoming holiday season, there is a huge risk of terrorist attacks in the European Union," she said.

Johansson stressed that the EU was discussing plans to allocate 30 bln euros to ensure security at crowded places, including places of worship, during the holiday season.
