MOSCOW, November 21. /TASS/. Armenian representatives will not attend a ministerial meeting of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), a Russia-led security bloc, due to take place in Minsk on November 22, a source told TASS.
"[Armenia] will not be represented," he said when asked whether it will be represented by a deputy foreign minister.
The Armenian foreign ministry said earlier in the day that the country’s top diplomat, Ararat Mirzoyan, will skip the CSTO events in Minsk on November 22 and 23.
According to the Russian foreign ministry, the delegations will focus on the military political situation in the organization’s responsibility zone and in neighboring regions. They will also discuss the results of multilateral cooperation within the CSTO and prospects for the further development of the organization’s collective security system. A number of joint documents are expected to be signed.
Along with Armenia and Belarus, which is chairing the organization in 2023, the CSTO members are Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan.
