CAIRO, November 15. /TASS/. Egyptian hospitals can admit any number of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip suffering from severe diseases or wounds from Israeli bombardments, Egypt’s Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar said.
He made the statement at joint news conference with his Turkish counterpart Fahrettin Koca in Cairo.
"The Egyptian side is ready to receive any number of wounded and seriously ill Palestinians from the Gaza Strip," Abdel Ghaffar said. "The Health Ministry is ready to implement the directives received from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in this regard."
The minister said the Health Ministry has prepared 35 special intensive care ambulances equipped with advanced equipment and incubators for newborns.
"All these vehicles are ready at any time to ensure the rescue of newborns when they arrive at the Rafah crossing on Egypt's border with the Gaza Strip," Abdel Ghaffar said.
He added that the Turkish minister's visit to Cairo represents "the transition of all discussions regarding medical assistance to the Palestinians of Gaza into the practical realm."
Koca earlier said that Turkey, Egypt and Israel formed a coordination team to bring and treat the wounded and sick from the Gaza Strip.
"Cancer patients, especially children, will be the first to be transferred through the Rafah crossing to Egyptian hospitals in the towns of Sheikh Zuweid and El Arish, and medical personnel sent from Turkey will treat patients from Gaza together with their Egyptian colleagues," he said. "In the second phase, the plan is to bring [some] of the patients to Turkey," where they will continue to receive treatment.
