White House rejects Republican budget proposal that doesn’t stipulate aid for Ukraine

"This proposal is just a recipe for more Republican chaos and more shutdowns - full stop," White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said

MOSCOW, November 12. /TASS/. The US budget proposal submitted by House Speaker Mike Johnson, a Republican, is not serious and would cause to more government shutdowns, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said in a statement.

"This proposal is just a recipe for more Republican chaos and more shutdowns - full stop," she said. "House Republicans are wasting precious time with an unserious proposal."

Johnson earlier submitted a budget proposal that calls for continued funding of some government agencies and programs until January 19, 2024 or February 2, 2024. The proposal doesn’t include money to provide assistance to Ukraine and Israel.
