Istanbul center authorizes departure of three cargo vessels from Chernomorsk

The vessels will take out a total of 129,440 tonnes of food, the JCC said

UN, August 26. /TASS/. The Joint Coordination Center (JCC) in Istanbul has authorized the departure of three vessels from the Ukrainian port of Chernomorsk, which will take out a total of 129,440 tonnes of food, the JCC said in a statement issued on Thursday.

The Seaeagle cargo ship with 63,340 tonnes of wheat is going to Sudan, the Pretty Lady vessel is going to deliver 45,000 tonnes of corn to Egypt, while the Aviva ship with 19,100 tonnes of sunflower oil is going to India. All vessels are scheduled to set sail on Friday.

Apart from that, on August 26, departure of two vessels previously approved by the JCC will take place. The Oris Sofi will take 5,900 tonnes of sunflower oil from Yuzhny, which is to be delivered to the Turkish Tekirdag, and the Zelek Star vessel, which will take 3,700 tonnes of peas to the Turkish Mersin, will depart from Chernomorsk.

On Thursday, the representatives of the Joint Coordination Center inspected six vessels, seven more are expected to be inspected on Friday.

A package of documents geared towards resolving the issue of food and fertilizer supplies on global markets was signed on July 22 in Istanbul. Under the Russia-UN memorandum, the United Nations undertakes to work toward lifting anti-Russian restrictions hampering the exports of agricultural products and fertilizers. Another document envisages a mechanism of exporting grain from Ukraine-controlled Black Sea ports. An agreement between Russia, Turkey, Ukraine and the United Nations provides for the establishment of a four-party coordination center to search ships carrying grain in order to prevent weapons smuggling and avoid any false flag.
