MOSCOW, December 14. /TASS/. The amount of automobiles in Moscow grew fivefold since 1990, Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said in a report on Thursday.
"The number of cars skyrocketed fivefold in more than 25 years, from 900,000 in 1990 to 1.8 mln in 2000, 3.3 mln in 2010 and 4.7 mln in 2017," the report said.
There were 110 vehicles per 1,000 Muscovites in 1990 as compared to 370 vehicles per 1,000 Muscovites in 2017, the report said.
According to the mayor, Moscow boasts the world’s longest traffic jams.
