MOSCOW, March 30. /TASS/. The government on Thursday submitted to the State Duma a bill on the introduction of criminal punishment for the propaganda of narcotics on the Internet if the perpetrator has previously been brought to justice for a similar offense, according to the Duma’s online database.
It is proposed to supplement the Russian Criminal Code with Article 230.3. According to the new article, the promotion of trafficking or use of narcotics, psychotropic substances, their analogues or cultivation of narcotic plants could be punished, among other things, by a fine of up to 50,000 rubles, correctional labor or imprisonment for up to two years.
That punishment could be levied on those who have previously been prosecuted for a similar offense.
