MOSCOW, January 21. /TASS/. The Russian Interior Ministry does not rule out that attempts will be made to destabilize the situation in Russia like it was done in Belarus and Kyrgyzstan, First Deputy Interior Minister Alexander Gorovoi said, addressing a board meeting of the ministry’s Main Moscow Department on Thursday.
"The analysis of developments, particularly in former Soviet countries, gives reason to expect a rise in social and political tensions, including in our country’s capital. There are a lot of interested parties as political parties and quasi-politicians seek to shatter the situation ahead of local elections and the State Duma election. We need to analyze the activities of our foreign colleagues and assess the developments that took place in Moscow in the summer of 2019. Given the technologies that were employed in Belarus and Kyrgyzstan, chances are that similar actions will be taken in our country," Gorovoi pointed out.
In this regard, he called on senior police officers to keep a close eye on developments in the country.
