MOSCOW, July 23. /TASS/. The American HBO network is planning to distribute a Russian documentary project "Stanislavsky", producer Alexander Telnov informed on Monday during an expert council at the Russian Ministry of Culture.
"In my opinion, it is hard to overestimate the name of Stanislavsky," the producer said, adding that the project will be international. "We want to create something epic for international distribution." Telnov added that the film will have a US director, and HBO will be in charge of the distribution. Besides, the picture may be produced along with Germany.
"Some of the personalities have already passed away, but we managed to record them: Oleg Tabakov, Martin Landau," producer Yulia Kim said. She added that Stanislavsky’s descendants contributed to the making of the film. "There will be documentary records, chronicles, archive family materials," the producer expanded.
Konstantin Stanislavsky was a Russian actor and director who cofounded the Moscow Art Theatre in 1897. He invented a systematic approach to training actors: the so-called Stanislavsky school of acting.
