Moscow ready to deal with registration of Russian House in Baku — Foreign Ministry

Maria Zakharova urged people to avoid giving in to provocations in the media that promote certain narratives on "Russian spies"

MOSCOW, February 6. /TASS/. Moscow expects that the situation regarding the registration of its cultural center (Russian House) in Baku will be resolved favorably, Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said at a briefing.

The diplomat confirmed that Moscow had received a notification from Azerbaijan stating the termination of the Russian House's activities. "In response, the Russian side expressed its readiness to take the necessary steps to finalize the registration of the Russian House in accordance with Azerbaijan's legislation," she noted. "We have repeatedly offered to discuss this issue through diplomatic channels, within relevant consultations. These proposals were also sent in writing to the Azerbaijani side. Therefore, we expect this issue to be resolved in a favorable manner," Zakharova added.

She also urged people to avoid giving in to provocations in the media that promote certain narratives on "Russian spies."

Earlier, the head of Russia's Agency for International Humanitarian Cooperation, Yevgeny Primakov, confirmed that the cultural center in Baku had received a note from Azerbaijan regarding the need for official registration.
