EAEU emerges as key player in international relations — Russian Foreign Ministry

Throughout its existence, the EAEU's member states – Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan – have achieved notable results, the Russian Foreign Ministry highlighted

MOSCOW, December 28. /TASS/. The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) has become a key player in international and economic relations, achieving significant results across various sectors during its existence, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Saturday.

"Over 10 years of operation, the union has become a central player in international economic relations. This is reflected in the EAEU's network of international contacts, which includes free trade agreements with Vietnam, Iran, and Serbia, two non-preferential agreements on trade and economic cooperation with China, and more than 80 memorandums of cooperation through the union's supranational body - the Eurasian Economic Commission - with countries and integration associations worldwide," the report, released in connection with the EAEU's 10th anniversary, reads.

Throughout its existence, the EAEU's member states – Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan – have achieved notable results, the Russian Foreign Ministry highlighted. "The domestic market is thriving and improving, international contacts are expanding, and mutual trade among the five countries continues to grow steadily," the ministry added. "EAEU states are deepening and strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation across various areas: customs and tariffs, non-tariff barriers, technical regulation, industrial cooperation, transportation and logistics, energy, and agriculture."

The Russian Foreign Ministry also noted that the EAEU is working on trade liberalization agreements with Egypt, Indonesia, and the United Arab Emirates. "Active engagement with observer states - Cuba and Uzbekistan - also plays a significant role," the ministry concluded.
