MOSCOW, November 26. /TASS/. The West’s attempts to suppress the trend toward multipolarity cannot prevent the steady development of Russian-Chinese relations, Russia's top diplomat Sergey Lavrov said at a meeting of the Council of Heads of Russian constituent entities at the Foreign Ministry.
"Inter-regional ties have become one of the key components of the comprehensive Russian-Chinese partnership and strategic cooperation, and despite the current situation and the West's attempts to dominate all processes and suppress the trend toward multipolarity, our relations with China are steadily and progressively developing," he pointed out.
The foreign minister emphasized that both regional and municipal authorities are actively participating in numerous Russian-Chinese forums and exhibitions. "It is gratifying to see the increased intensity of exchanges between regional economic operators, educational, scientific, and cultural institutions," he said. "I am convinced that the potential for Russian-Chinese inter-regional cooperation has broad prospects, not only through bilateral channels but also on a multilateral basis, for instance through BRICS."
