MOSCOW, November 14. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his Colombian counterpart Luis Gilberto Murillo discussed the conflicts in Ukraine and in the Gaza Strip, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement after their meeting in Moscow.
"The sides discussed key topics on the international agenda, including the Ukrainian and Palestinian-Israeli crises. They outlined plans to further deepen cooperation on international platforms. Russia reaffirmed its readiness to further contribute to international efforts, coordinated by the UN Security Council, on building peace in Colombia," the foreign ministry said.
The Russian ministry also said that the sides reviewed the main areas of Russian-Colombian ties, including within the context the 90th anniversary of establishment of the diplomatic relations, which will be celebrated in 2025.
"The sides outlined practical steps on strengthening of bilateral partnership in politics, trade, economy, economic, cultural and humanitarian areas," the Russian foreign ministry said.
The ministry added that Murillo will also take part in a solemn ceremony on the occasion of his awarding with the title of honorary professor, which will take place in the Sergo Ordzhonikidze State Geological Prospecting University. The meeting between the two ministers took place in a warm and trusting atmosphere, the ministry noted.
