HAVANA, April 16. /TASS/. The prosecutors general of Russia and Cuba, Igor Krasnov and Yamila Pena Ojeda, have signed a program for cooperation in 2024-26, a TASS correspondent reports.
"The program for cooperation between the two agencies that we will sign today has been prepared as part of the implementation of the agreements reached in Moscow. It includes activities of mutual interest, including those related to the fight against terrorism," Krasnov said at a meeting with Pena Ojeda.
The document also provides for steps pertaining to the protection of the rights of minors, legal assistance in criminal cases and the introduction of digital technologies into the activities of prosecutors.
According to the Russian prosecutor general, the two countries’ political leadership has taken note of increasing trade between Russia and Cuba and the growing number of joint business projects, which makes it necessary for prosecution authorities to protect investment.
In addition, Krasnov invited Pena Ojeda to discuss mechanisms aimed at protecting the rights of entrepreneurs and investors at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) set to take place in the Russian city of St. Petersburg on June 5-8.
