Russia ready to convene new intra-Palestinian meeting — deputy foreign minister

Mikhail Bogdanov emphasized that holding such a meeting would be helpful

MOSCOW, March 19. /TASS/. Russia has expressed its readiness to convene a new intra-Palestinian meeting, which would ultimately depend on the Palestinian parties themselves, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, who serves as Russia’s special presidential representative for the Middle East and African countries, told TASS.

"We are always ready, everything depends on their desire and political will," he said, responding to a question on whether Russia will host another intra-Palestinian meeting.

The senior diplomat emphasized that holding such a meeting would be helpful. "The more so that the situation provides for the continuation of consolidation amid the ongoing war," Bogdanov added.

An intra-Palestinian meeting, attended by representatives of over ten organizations, was held on February 29-March 2 in Moscow. The Palestinian National Liberation Movement (Fatah), which governs the West Bank, and the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), which controls the Gaza Strip, both participated in the meeting. Bogdanov said earlier that the goal of this meeting was to help various Palestinian authorities to agree on uniting in political terms.
